From Canada, I would illustrate Lebanon, the unreasonable expectation to keep calm and carry on.
What we see, isn’t what is.
Trying to relax isn’t being relaxed.
The plants are green, the weather is nice, we make up stories and we stroll and scroll and walk away. The stickiness of the corrupt in Beirut persists on my skin.
And yet, the corrupt are everywhere.
The Collection
Peace of Mind is a series of three digital illustrations, exploring the quiet performance of normalcy — the act of reading, of tending to plants, of sitting by the sea — against the weight of a reality that refuses to be ignored.
